My son had his wedding at the upstairs venue. It was absolutely wonderful. The good was delicious, served hot . Open bar with two young ladies was awesome. So courteous and helpful. The DJ did an awesome playing a great mixer of music. Totally awesome. Thank you guys for everything.
Abel's on the Lake is literally what it says: a restaurant right on Lake Austin. The space is really nice and airy; we sat on the enclosed deck, which had doors that opened, but it was a bit cool for that today. There's a large bar in the center of the room with several TV screens that look perfect for happy hour and watching a game. There were other dining areas that were quieter. I had the grilled mahi fish tacos which came with a side of creamed corn. Both were very tasty. The restaurant is suffering, like many others, from a lack of staff. This made our service a bit slow although friendly. The restrooms definitely needed some attention, too. All this I attribute to the lack of sufficient staff members. It's still a nice place to have lunch and I was surprised that we did not have to wait at all to be seated. Lots of free parking across the street, too!
Cool breeze, tasty eats. Their on-the-lake view makes for an enjoyable seating. Great selection of items with their take on some classics. Super enjoyable. Loving the outside bar/ music/ restaurant / water experience. Able's is where its at. Hint, come here when the Hula Hut (next door) has a long wait OR even smarter...Come here first!!!
Lake Austin's best deck on the water. Good food and drinks. Excellent staff. Relaxed atmosphere. I'm still trying different items in the menu. So I'll write more on this place at a later date. I got a salad with grilled shrimp on my initial visit. The salad was fresh with no brown or wilting. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and had a nice seasoning. The drink menu offers a frozen John Daly which I had to partake in. I haven't seen a frozen one any where else. This is a great spot to watch the boats come in with the lure of the water, surrounding hills and houses perched above.
